Lacanian Psychoanalysis

Personal Analysis

Lacanian analysis presents an opportunity to work through suffering and to produce a real transformation. Unlike psychotherapy and some other forms of psychoanalysis, the Lacanian treatment focuses on speech and the unconscious. In doing so, the fundamental structure of a problem can be revealed thereby opening up the possibility of cutting it at the root. In particular, Lacanian analysis is well suited for longstanding and/or serious issues and that have been previously impossible to resolve. If interested in a personal analysis, please call me directly so as to determine if, and how, we might work together.

Control Analysis

Control analysis is an essential element of psychoanalytic formation. In this setting, the candidate’s own practice becomes the subject of psychoanalytic work. The focus is not only on technique, but on the transference, countertransference, and unconscious structures that emerge in the treatment. Through this process, the analyst-in-training develops a capacity to sustain the analytic frame, tolerate impasses, and clarify their listening to the unconscious. If you are in analytic formation and are interested in exploring the possibility of analytic control, contact me.
